IZETA Zecevic is a pillar in the Auburn Bosnian community (Sydney).

In her day-to-day life, the cultural leader stands tall and now her image is equally as big as part of the Calendars of Memory project at Auburn library.

The project by Auburn Cartographies shares stories of 10 women in the Auburn community in large silk portraits taken by photographic artist Jagath Dheerasekara. The project’s creative producers, Alissar Chidiac and Paula Abood, said Calendars of Memory was completed under a community arts and cultural development program run in 2016 and called, the Auburn Cartographies of Diversity.

The women featured in the exhibition were Amrit Versha, Bintu Kamara, Dorothy Mali Makasa, Emina Varcar, Fatma Mohamed, Ghada Zaoud, Izeta Zecevic, Monica Biel, Saada Abdikarim and Sister Johanna Conway.

Ms Chidiac said the Calendars of Memory project involved listening to the stories of women and expressing that through the portraits. It closes on May 6.
